Yesterday, word quickly spread online that Marvel held one of its classic “we’re kinda nervous about this one” test screenings, this time for “The Fantastic Four: First Steps.”

Take this one with a grain of salt — it’s coming from Daniel Richtman and apparently showed up on a production grid, so nothing confirmed yet. Still, it’s blown up online, with one tweet alone racking up nearly 250,000 likes.

Most sequels don’t come close to capturing the originality or impact of the first film. But once in a while, a sequel not only holds its own — it becomes a landmark. For my money, these are the best sequels ever made.
