Zellner Brothers’ ‘Alpha Gang’ Recasts with Chris Pine, Lily-Rose Depp, and Cate Blanchett in Sci-Fi Biker Comedy

May 28, 2025 Jordan Ruimy

Following their excellent “Sasquatch Sunset,” which premiered at last year’s Sundance Film Festival, the Zellner brothers were supposed to shoot their next feature, “Alpha Gang” in the spring, but delays occurred. The sci-fi comedy now has an updated cast.

Originally stars Channing Tatum, Riley Keough, Steven Yeun, and Zoë Kravitz are out, and the project has recast some of those roles. Chris Pine, Lily-Rose Depp, and Adria Arjona have now joined the ensemble, which still includes Cate Blanchett, and Léa Seydoux.

The film centers on a group of alien invaders disguised as a leather-clad biker gang from the 1950s. Sent to conquer Earth, their plans are complicated when they begin to experience human emotions.

Mike Gioulakis (It Follows, Us, Split) will handle cinematography, reuniting with the Zellners after their collaboration on ‘Sasquatch’. The film is currently “in development,” and no production date has been announced just yet.
