“Marty Supreme” is now A24’s highest-grossing film ever, pulling in $147M globally as of Sunday. The film, which cost north of $70M, has yet to break even, although a China release now awaits it — and has become a rare original, non-IP hit at the box office.
‘Marty’ edged past “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” which topped out at $77M stateside, and for almost four years, reigned supreme worldwide with a $145M global haul, but ‘Marty’ has now exceeded that amount, and has a shot at hitting the $200M mark when all is said and done.
In fact, the film has only been released in select international markets so far, with more rollouts — especially in Europe and Asia — happening in coming weeks. Watch out for big numbers to come in from France and Germany.
