Universal Pictures has released a new trailer for Steven Spielberg’s mysterious upcoming film, Disclosure Day, which can be seen below.
What do you think? I’m still not entirely sure about this one — something feels off. Still, a new Spielberg is coming soon to theaters, which is, in and of itself, a major event for movie fans.
Blunt portrays a Kansas City TV weatherwoman who is unexpectedly possessed by a strange alien force during a live broadcast. O’Connor takes on the role of a believer in extraterrestrial life, committed to exposing the existence of life beyond Earth to the public.
This latest teaser basically confirms what we all suspected: the film is about aliens. Also, I’m sure I’m not the only person who noticed that the spaceship looks exactly the same as the one in “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.”
The heart of the story centers on the global chaos that erupts when the world is told that aliens truly exist. Warships hover over cities, a car chase unfolds alongside a speeding train, crop circles begin to appear, and—in a line echoing our current Epstein era—the teaser closes with cries of, “People deserve to know.”
No matter what you thought of Spielberg’s recent films—“Ready Player One,” “West Side Story,” and “The Fabelmans”—the man can still direct the hell out of a movie. Give him a great script, and there’s the potential for something special.
“Disclosure Day,” written by David Koepp, and set to hit screens on 06.12.26, marks the 37th film directed by Spielberg and is being promoted as a return to the iconic filmmaker’s roots; he will turn 80 at the end of the year.
