‘The Drama' Trailer: Zendaya, Pattinson, and a Secret A24 Doesn’t Want You to Know

February 3, 2026 Jordan Ruimy

A trailer has been released for Kristoffer Borgli’s “The Drama.” There’s a lot going on in the footage shown, but the twist is only hinted at: she has a dark secret, and it freaks everyone out, including her fiancé.

The upcoming A24 film stars Zendaya and Robert Pattinson as “a happily engaged couple” who are “put to the test when an unexpected turn sends their wedding week off the rails.” This is Borgli, who made the Cannes gem “Sick of Myself,” so expect a provocation.

What exactly is this “unexpected turn”? I kind of regret having it spoiled by someone who saw a cut of the film last year. A24 is only hinting at it in the marketing — it’s the core part of the story. Then again, it’s quite easy to find out what it is — there are spoilers that have leaked online.

“The Drama” won’t be going to any film festival. It skipped Sundance and SXSW — which might have to do with A24 attempting to avoid reviews popping up with spoilers. That’s the thing—the twist apparently happens midway through the film, which is something a critic might or might not want to avoid in a review.

Zendaya has “The Drama,” “Euphoria,” “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” “The Odyssey,” and “Dune: Messiah” all coming out in 2026. She’s also lending her voice to “Shrek 5,” which was supposed to come out next year but is now aiming for a June 2027 release.

“The Drama” hits theaters on April 3. The film also stars Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, Zoe Winters, and Hailey Gates. Watch the trailer below.
