Here’s the trailer(s) for “Spider-Noir,” Prime’s live-action Marvel spinoff that has Nicolas Cage front and center as the titular hero.
There are actually two trailers. Viewers will be able to stream “Spider-Noir” in two formats — “Authentic Black & White” and “True-Hue Full Color” — and we now have a look at both of them.
The series draws inspiration from the Marvel comic “Spider-Man Noir” and centers on Ben Reilly, a hardened private investigator navigating 1930s New York. After a devastating personal loss, he’s compelled to face the ghosts of his past. Once celebrated as the city’s sole masked hero, “The Spider,” Reilly has spent years distancing himself from that former life — until a mysterious new case forces him to reconsider the identity and responsibility he thought he had left behind.
Harry Bradbeer (“Fleabag,” “Killing Eve”) is directing, and he’s come up with a rather unconventional approach here — a genre piece rather than the usual Marvel claptrap. I can’t say I’m not intrigued by the way this has been shot and photographed.
The series is run by co-showrunners Oren Uziel (“The Lost City,” “22 Jump Street”) and Steve Lightfoot (“Marvel’s The Punisher,” “Shantaram”), who developed it with the team behind “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” — Phil Lord and Christopher Miller — alongside Amy Pascal.
Oddly enough, “Spider-Noir” is set to premiere on May 25, 2026, on MGM+ in the U.S., and will consist of eight episodes. Then, two days later, all episodes will be released globally on Prime Video on May 27, which is where most of us will be able to see it since, quite frankly, who the hell has MGM+??
