Terri Garr, Star of ‘Young Frankenstein' and ‘Tootsie,' Dies at 79

Teri Garr, so good in Sydney Pollack’s Tootsie, Mel Brooks’ “Young Frankenstein” and Steven Spielberg’s “Close Encounters of the Third Kind,” died Tuesday. She was 79. Her long battle with MS has ended. Very sad news. Some of her other notable credits include “After Hours,” “The Conversation,” and “The Black Stallion.” I’ll be taking out my copy of “Tootsie” from the shelf tonight in her honor.

Last month, A24 acquired U.S. distribution rights to “Queer,” starring Daniel Craig and Drew Starkey. A24 was initially concerned by the film’s 200-minute runtime and asked Guadagnino to trim the film down to a releasable length (135 minutes).
