Elle Fanning and Julianne Moore are set to star in “Moonsong: A Life In Seven Verses,” a film about acclaimed children’s author Margaret Wise Brown, the creator of classics including “Goodnight Moon” and “The Runaway Bunny.”
The project is directed by Rebecca Miller, who previously made films such as “Personal Velocity,” “The Ballad of Jack and Rose,” “Maggie’s Plan,” and “She Came to Me.” The film will explore Brown’s unconventional life beyond her beloved children’s books, including her “creative ambitions, relationships, and role as a publishing innovator.”
Having Julianne Moore and Elle Fanning involved certainly piques our curiosity, especially Moore, who has consistently delivered great performances over the past four decades, including “Far From Heaven,” “Magnolia,” “Safe,” “Boogie Nights,” and “May December.”
Production is scheduled to begin filming in early 2027, with the project bringing together Fanning and Moore in the lead roles. The film also reunites Miller with producer Martin Scorsese, continuing a creative relationship that most recently resulted in Miller’s 5-hour doc “Mr. Scorsese.”
