Matt Reeves has just revealed two names that hadn’t previously been mentioned by the trades when it comes to “The Batman: Part II.”
Brian Tyree Henry and Sebastian Koch have joined the cast. There’s no word yet on who they’ll be playing. Dr. Arkham is reportedly part of the film, so perhaps one of them could be taking on that role.
General rule I go by: any film with Brian Tyree Henry can’t be that bad. I love the guy. Whether he’s stealing scenes in “Causeway” and “Bullet Train,” or bringing raw intensity to “Widows” and “Atlanta,” he always brings a grounded, deeply human presence to every role. He’s one of those actors who can shift tonal gears — from drama to comedy — without ever seeming like he’s trying too hard.
Meanwhile, Koch is best known for his performances in the Oscar-winning drama “The Lives of Others,” Steven Spielberg’s “Bridge of Spies,” and for playing Otto Düring in the fifth season of Showtime’s “Homeland.”
Henry and Koch join a cast that already includes Robert Pattinson, who is set to return as Bruce Wayne/Batman, alongside a mix of returning players and new additions. Jeffrey Wright, Colin Farrell, and Andy Serkis are all expected to reprise their roles, while new reports suggest Sebastian Stan may play Harvey Dent, with Charles Dance cast as his father, Christopher Dent, and Scarlett Johansson as Gilda Dent. Barry Keoghan is also rumored to return as the Joker. Jayme Lawson will return as Mayor Bella Reál, while Gil Perez-Abraham is back as Officer Martinez.
Although plot details are being kept under lock and key, Pattinson was recently asked about “The Batman: Part II” in an interview, and while he avoided revealing anything specific, he did tease that the sequel will be “a really different type of Batman movie.”
“The Batman: Part II” is set to be released in theaters on October 1, 2027.
