A few weeks back, I reported that Lynne Ramsay was developing a vampire film with none other than Ezra Miller—the embattled star of “The Flash” and lead in Ramsay’s 2011 psychological thriller, “We Need to Talk About Kevin.”
“I’m making a vampire movie,” Ramsay said at the time. “It’s with Ezra Miller, who was in ‘Kevin.’ He’s the main character. That’s in development.”
Now, Miller has revealed a significant new detail. In a June 19 interview with Lo Speciale Giornale, he confirmed that he’s not only set to star in the project—he’s also co-writing the screenplay alongside Ramsay. For Miller, this isn’t just another acting gig; it’s shaping up to be a full-blown comeback bid.
I’m working with [Lynne] again, that will likely be the first thing I do. It’s a film that her and I are writing together.
By now, you’ve probably heard the legend of Ezra Miller’s 2023 Summer From Hell™—the kind of PR nightmare that made The Flash’s box office faceplant feel almost like an afterthought.
Let’s rewind: In the lead-up to Warner Bros.’ most cursed superhero rollout, Miller embarked on what can only be described as an international crime tour. Assaults? Check. Grooming accusations? Sadly, yes. Arrests in multiple states and countries? Naturally. Armed robbery? Why not. Oh, and let’s not forget the unlicensed cannabis farm where he allegedly holed up with a woman and her three kids, which somehow didn’t result in a True Crime doc—yet.
It was less a “bad PR moment” and more a full-blown public unraveling. Whether you chalk it up to a breakdown or something else, Miller was clearly spiraling. Since then? Radio silence on the movie front. The guy hasn’t stepped foot on a film set since.
There are whispers that he’s trying to turn things around. Good. He should. Last anyone checked, Miller was reportedly spending his days in Vermont, chilling with rapper-turned-spiritualist Matisyahu (yep, that one), and tending to goats. Yes, goats.
From Warner Bros.’ red carpets to a rural farm retreat—it’s either the start of a redemption arc or the weirdest epilogue in Hollywood history. Either way, he’s definitely keeping things low-key. Probably for the best.
