A quick update on Sarah Polley’s “The Bell Jar,” which already has Billie Eilish and Connor Storrie as part of its cast. The film is currently shooting in Toronto, and there are whispers about who the cinematographer will be on this one, but I won’t mention him just yet, as I’m trying to confirm his attachment.
Regardless, a top-notch actress has joined the ensemble: According to THR, three-time Oscar nominee Carey Mulligan is now part of Polley’s film. Mulligan will portray Mrs. Greenwood, the mother of protagonist Esther Greenwood, who is set to be played by Eilish, marking her first appearance in a feature film.
Based on Sylvia Plath’s landmark novel, first published in 1963 and widely studied as a literary classic, “The Bell Jar” is backed by Focus Features, which has yet to announce a release date—most likely sometime in 2027.
