Sebastian Stan just starred in Cristian Mungiu’s Palme d’Or winner “Fjord,” where he’s almost unrecognizable, with a bald head and scruffy beard.
He tells Deadline he’ll be headed to London for Matt Reeves’ The Batman: Part II, where he’ll play “many roles in this one.”
Of course, this is in reference to the character Harvey Dent, who is initially a Gotham D.A. before eventually getting disfigured by acid thrown in his face, scarring the left side, and turning into Two-Face.
“I’m excited, I’m nervous and trying to keep surprising myself,” he says of taking on Two-Face. He’s working with the hair and makeup teams, who have “devised how his disfigurement will look.”
Stan, formerly Bucky Barnes in the MCU, was Oscar-nominated for his portrayal of Donald Trump in “The Apprentice” and has several auteur-driven films in the works, including new projects with Radu Jude, Justin Kurzel, and Felipe Gálvez.
“The Batman: Part II” is expected to begin production on May 29, although Reeves has been posting on-set images to his X account, which appear to be test reels.
So far, the cast includes Stan, Robert Pattinson, Scarlett Johansson, Jeffrey Wright, Colin Farrell, Barry Keoghan, Charles Dance, Brian Tyree Henry, Andy Serkis, Sebastian Koch, Jayme Lawson, and Gil Perez-Abraham. “The Batman: Part II” is set to hit theaters on October 1, 2027.
