John Hannah Set to Return for ‘The Mummy 4,’ Shoots This Fall

A small batch of news coming down the wire on this quiet Friday. John Hannah is set to return to ‘The Mummy’ franchise, reuniting with co-stars Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz in a new instalment from Universal Pictures.

Hannah, who appeared in all three original films as the roguish and often unreliable Jonathan Carnahan, the treasure-hunting brother of Weisz’s character, became a fan favorite for his comic relief.

Fans of the franchise must be elated with Hannah’s return as it signals a strong connection to the original trilogy, with filming planned for London and Morocco in fall 2026 ahead of a May 19, 2028 release.
