Netflix Sets Reboot of ‘13 Going on 30’ Starring Emily Bader and Logan Lerman

March 24, 2026 Jordan Ruimy

Another day, another reboot. This time, Netflix has decided it’s a good idea to remake “13 Going On 30,” a 2004 body-swapping comedy starring Jennifer Garner.

Emily Bader (“People We Meet on Vacation”) and Logan Lerman (“Oh, Hi!”) are set to star in the reboot. Brett Haley, helmer of the hit Netflix rom-com “People We Meet on Vacation,” is attached as director. Garner will serve as executive producer.

In a statement, Haley said, “13 Going on 30 is one of those rare, perfect films.”

Then why are you remaking it?

Released by Columbia Pictures in April 2004, “13 Going on 30” is a romantic comedy with a fantastical twist, following 13-year-old Jenna Rink (Christa B. Allen) as she mysteriously wakes up as her 30-year-old self (Garner) and faces the challenges of adulthood.

As I noted a few months back, instead of Hollywood remaking films that were already good in the first place, why not take a crack at remaking the bad ones? It makes far more sense than revisiting a story that already worked well the first time it was adapted for the screen.
