Box-Office: ‘Novocaine’ $1.8M, ‘Mickey 17’ $1M, ‘Black Bag’ $850K

March 14, 2025 Jordan Ruimy

A quick Thursday previews recap. Paramount’s “Novocaine” made $1.8M in previews — but the total includes advance screenings from last weekend as well. The film, which only cost $18M to produce, might nab a $12M opening.

Bong Joon ho’s “Mickey 17” will have a 60% drop this weekend, it only earned $1M yesterday. The film’s budget is said to be $130M+ and it’s so far only earned $50M worldwide. Despite the positive reviews, audiences reception has just not been good on this one.

Meanwhile, Steven Soderbergh’s “Black Bag,” a well-reviewed and mid-budget spy drama, made $850k on Thursday, and now aiming for a $7M weekend. The film was produced for $50M, and it stands a good chance at not breaking even with these early numbers.
