Talk about praise, Paul Schrader has seen “Oppenheimer” and calls it “the best and most important film of this century.”
He goes on to say, “if you see one film in cinemas this year it should be “Oppenheimer.” I’m not a Nolan groupie, but this one blows the doors off the hinges.”
Nolan’s film is being released on Friday. I’m seeing it tomorrow. Reactions, so far, have been very good. Will it live up to the hype? I sure hope it does. Especially after having seen “Barbie” …
Meanwhile, IndieWire’s Eric Kohn has also seen the film, calling it “gripping.” However, he adds that “the bulk of the film is men in rooms talking” and that “it’s almost a filmed play.”
