‘Kraven' 14% on Rotten Tomatoes; $15M Opening Weekend Eyed [Updated]

December 11, 2024 Jordan Ruimy

UPDATE: As expected, ‘Kraven’ is bombing hard with critics. It currently sits at 14% on Rotten Tomatoes and 33 on Metacritic.

EARLIER: I always tell the reader to take early social media reactions with a major grain of salt. Films get overhyped on social media whenever they first get screened. With that said, how bad must “Kraven the Hunter” be if even the influencers aren’t taking the bait?

‘Kraven’ screened last night and the reactions are not good. Is it any wonder that on the same day as the screening, it was reported that Sony was putting the kibosh on their Spider-Man Villain Universe? This film has been dead on arrival for a few months now.

I have more bad news for ‘Kraven.’ As if that $20M opening projection wasn’t bad enough, the trades are now predicting a $15M weekend for J.C. Chandor’s film. The budget for ‘Kraven’ is reported to be $110M. The full review embargo breaks tomorrow at 3PM ET.
