TIFF Set to Announce Full Lineup in August

The majority of TIFF’s lineup won’t be announced until August. I’m being told that they are going to keep doing these one-film world premiere announcements for the time being. Madness!

It used to be that, for the last ten years, TIFF would announce almost everything during the third week of July. They’re definitely going with a different approach this year, I don’t know if I like it.

I’m also not sure which title will be announced tomorrow, but have a decent idea of what might show up during the big August announcement. I lead you to exhibit A, our list of the 70 anticipated fall fest titles, dated 06.18.22. It’s been a month since that one’s been published, some things have changed …

Noah Baumbach’s “White Noise” won’t be ready until October. “Next Goal Wins” and “Rustin” are also now both 2023 releases, the latter is said to not be ready.

However, we can expect TIFF to —hopefully— screen new movies from Aronofsky, Inarritu, Dominik, Field, Polley, Schrader, McDonagh, Guadagnino, Zeller, Lelio, Sachs, Frears, Jordan, and Holofcener, among many more …
