‘Tenet' Blu-Ray Release Date Set For December 15, 2020

As first reported here last month, Christopher Nolan’s “Tenet” is set for a December 15th, 2020 release date on Blu-Ray and DVD. That’s all according to Collider’s Steven Weintraub, who seems to be using the same source I had on October 6h.

I‘m not sure what the plan is when it comes to the future theatrical run of Nolan’s sci-fi mind-bender, It has yet to open in the two biggest movie markets in the U.S. (New York City and Los Angeles), but the fact of the matter is that NY and L.A. will most likely not be reopening their cinemas before next year, that’s almost a given now. The WB must surely know that, which is why they seem to be waving the white flag, calling it a day, and sending “Tenet” straight to Blu-ray in mid-December.

This is very exciting news for Nolan fans who didn’t have a chance to go to theaters to watch "Tenet.” And yet, it’s bad news for the theatrical experience — I hate to say it, moviegoing is being murdered because of this pandemic, and, when theaters reopen, it will be a very different world for cinema. However, it’ll be great to catch “Tenet” again since it is a film that merits repeat viewings and I just wasn’t satisfied enough by its labyrinthine narrative the first go-round.
