Stunt? Harvey Weinstein Spotted Without his Walker Just 24 Hours After Court Appearance

December 13, 2019 Jordan Ruimy

Honestly? I’m not surprised.

It seems as though Harvey Weinstein only uses his walker when he enters a courtroom. Only a day after being seen entering a New York City courthouse, looking crippled, aided by a walker, the disgraced ex-Miramax mogul was seen at a Target in Mount Kisco, NY, near Bedford, with his family — striding around the store, no walker in sight.

“He’s just using it for sympathy,” a self-described “spy” hilariously concluded to the New York Post.

Weinstein’s sexual assault trial is set to start next month. Last week, his attorney Donna Rotunno said the public scrutiny on him had taken a toll on his health. Whether this is, as many of his detractors seem to be implying, a “publicity stunt” remains to be seen.

"This is tough on anybody going through this and dealing with the scrutiny, not only in the courtroom but the court of public opinion, and this has been hard on him," said Rotunno. "He has some back issues that we're hoping to address this week, and that's where his health stands. You can tell, it's tough on him."

Meanwhile, the New York Times is reporting that Weinstein “and the board of his bankrupt film studio have reached a tentative $25 million settlement agreement with dozens of his alleged sexual-misconduct victims.” It wouldn’t require him to admit wrongdoing or pay anything to his accusers himself. A real shame, but it goes to show just how money-hungry some of his accusers may be. I’ve read rthere are others who were very reluctant in agreeing to this settlement, but were told by their lawyers that Weinstein could very well win if they were to go along and have their case got o trial.
