The Christmas Eve box office kicked off last night. The current #1, “Sonic the Hedgehog 3,” earned $7.4M and barely edged out ‘Mufasa’ which made $7.1M. More families are going to go see the latter this weekend, and it could potentially dethrone ‘Sonic’ by Sunday. Meanwhile, James Mangold’s Bob Dylan biopic, “A Complete Unknown,” had a decent start with $1.4M on its way to an expected $15M 5-day opening at 2,835 locations (via Deadline).
