Terri Garr, Star of ‘Young Frankenstein' and ‘Tootsie,' Dies at 79

Teri Garr, so good in Sydney Pollack’s Tootsie, Mel Brooks’ “Young Frankenstein” and Steven Spielberg’s “Close Encounters of the Third Kind,” died Tuesday. She was 79. Her long battle with MS has ended. Very sad news. Some of her other notable credits include “After Hours,” “The Conversation,” and “The Black Stallion.” I’ll be taking out my copy of “Tootsie” from the shelf tonight in her honor.

Alfonso Cuarón insists on us calling his Apple TV+ series, “Disclaimer,” a “7-hour film.” I can’t really say I agree with him on that. What’s even more frustrating about his show is that he devoted over two years of his career to this project. He should have concentrated on actual cinema instead.
