Blake Lively’s “It Ends With Us” took in around $16M on Friday and is aiming for a $50M opening. It might or might not dethrone “Deadpool & Wolverine.” It’s a close race for #1.

It was announced at D23 that two-time Oscar winners Attic Reznor, Atticus Ross aka Nine Inch Nails will be scoring “Tron: Ares.” Not just that, Jeff Cronenweth, who lensed early Fincher, is listed as the Cinematographer.

Currently a TBD release, “The Incredibles 3” will have a returning voice cast that includes Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell, and Samuel L. Jackson.

A few years ago, Warners Bros greenlit an R-rated animated comedy from filmmaker Genndy Tartakovsky (“Hotel Transylvania”) called “Fixed,” about a dog’s wild last night before being neutered.

The Playlist’s Rodrigo Perez is reporting that the ever unpredictable Joaquin Phoenix might have dropped out of Todd Haynes' gay detective movie at the last minute, leaving the cast and crew in chaos.

There appears to be a rift between “It Ends With Us” star Blake Lively and her director/co-star “Justin Baldoni,” who hasn’t done much press for the film.

Finally, someone bought Paul Schrader’s “Oh, Canada.” It premiered in May at Cannes to mixed reviews and is set to screen next at TIFF and NYFF. A U.S. December release is being set up for the film.

No, 1999 is not being overhyped. It really was that great of a year. It signified the end of a certain type of cinema, and revealed a new kind, one that would shape the 21st century in ways we never could have imagined.
