Some major guessing games are currently going on regarding Telluride’s surprise movie, playing later today at 6 PM MT, which has sparked some fun theories among industry insiders and journalists.
Hell, Deadline has now written a report about the surprise film, which they claim comes from A24. They don’t know what the film is, but say that it has “hybrid elements” to it, and that A24 bought it very recently in a heated bidding war.
What’s most interesting is the runtime: 174 minutes. And all electronic devices, including “phones, smart watches, ear pods, smart glasses,” will have to be bagged and locked by security before entering the Herzog Theatre (Telluride’s largest venue) prior to the screening.
Any guesses from our readers? I’m as clueless about the identity of this film as the trades — I haven’t heard a peep, but that 174-minute runtime, plus the fact that a secretive bidding war occurred for it, is enticing enough to ponder: what in the living hell does Telluride chief Julie Huntsinger have in store for attendees?
The film runs 164 minutes. What a stunner this turns out to be. “Possible Love” keeps getting stranger and deeper the longer it goes. And by the end, the film has moved somewhere almost transcendent.
