If you thought the teaser for “You Can See Everything” was strange, A24's full-length trailer, which dropped Wednesday, takes it up a notch. This is a 174-minute movie, and it looks like Nathan Fielder went as deep as anyone possibly could to figure out what makes Holmes tick.
The film surprise-screened at Telluride this month, and early reactions called it one of a kind; Variety described it as a "reality-TV-as-hangout-movie psychodrama circus." All this to say, I've gotten a few messages from readers about the latest update on the film.
The MPA gave it an R, but that's not the detail most people are zeroing in on. The rating was given for "language" and, strangest of all, "graphic nudity." What? Who gets completely naked in this doc? It's left some puzzled, and for good reason.
So, about that nudity: I know what it is. I won't ruin it for you, but I'll say this much: it's not Fielder, and it's not Holmes. Make of that what you will, but it leaves only a small handful of potential candidates. My lips are sealed, though I'm sure this won't stay a secret for much longer.
The timing is interesting. Just days ago, on September 21, journalist Caleb Williams posted on X that a director had been found for the Kinberg trilogy. Turns out, Watts might be the guy.
