Tom Holland Says He’s Made “Sh*t Movies” That Were Hard to Promote

So, Tom Holland is out there promoting “The Odyssey” and “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” and recent interview comments have sparked discourse about his worst films (and there have been many).

Appearing on The Dish podcast, Holland was asked about how the press tour has been going, and much to the delight of many, stated that doing promo on these last few movies has been breezy when compared to some of the “sh*tty movies” he’s made:

“I’m absolutely loving it. When you’re doing press for movies you’re really proud of, it’s really easy. Because when they ask you questions about why should people go and watch this movie, you’re not lying to anyone. You really think people should go see it.

I’ve had experiences before when people say, ‘Why should you see this movie?’ And in the back of your mind, you’re like, ‘You shouldn’t, because it’s s—‘…[This time] it’s felt really like a bit of a victory lap to be honest. I’ve really enjoyed it. I’m super proud of both of the films”

His remark has fueled widespread speculation about which projects he had in mind — and there are many candidates to choose from. Among the titles fans most frequently point to are “Chaos Walking,” and “Dolittle,” — other contenders include “Cherry,” “Spies in Disguise,” “The Current War,” “Pilgrimage,” and “Uncharted.”

Was I too harsh in saying Holland was miscast in “The Odyssey”? Don’t get me wrong, he didn’t ruin the movie, and it’s not like he was terrible in it, but he’s just so unexciting an actor. He rarely brings much unpredictability or charisma to a role, and for a character who needed a stronger screen presence, he just never quite fit.
