Timothée Chalamet is over the moon about last night’s historic Knicks win over the San Antonio Spurs. He didn’t hold back either — showing up in the Knicks locker room to celebrate with the players, and even throwing shade at the Oscars.
In the Knicks locker room, Timmy got Champagne sprayed in his eyes. “Are you alright?” he was asked as he winced. “I’m not an athlete,” he shot back, “usually I have a stunt double do that!”
Chalamet, who attended the game with his “Marty Supreme” director Josh Safdie, also declared he’d “way rather this than the Oscars,” in a video obtained by ESPN, further isolating himself from the Academy, which should have given him the Oscar for “Marty Supreme,” but were annoyed enough by his incessant campaigning that they decided Michael B. Jordan should just be given the trophy.
One Hollywood source told Page Six that Chalamet lost because of his “arrogant attitude” that “fumbled the ball on the five-yard line.”
“His campaign for ‘Marty Supreme’ started it — the arrogance of his outfits, befitting a clown more than an Oscar winner. The lengths he will go for hype … He reeks of Oscar desperation,” the Hollywood source told the outlet.
Up next for Chalamet is “Dune: Part Three,” set for a December release, and “High Side,” a James Mangold–directed motocross movie, which will hopefully shoot later this year. He has no other projects announced just yet.
Chalamet, 30, has lost each of the three times he’s been nominated. My advice to him: never change. Stay true to yourself. Who needs an Oscar?
