Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have finally called it quits on their legal soap opera over It Ends With Us.
What started as a behind-the-scenes drama turned full-on courtroom franchise—complete with harassment allegations, countersuits, PR wars, and legal filings—has now ended not with a bang, but with a confidential handshake and a mutual “let’s just move on” energy.
A trial was basically about to kick off and turn into the Oscars of awkward testimony, but instead both sides decided to spare everyone the popcorn chaos. No apologies—just a very corporate-sounding agreement that the set had “challenges” and that everyone deserves workplace peace.
Why the sudden handshake? Maybe it was the fact that both of their careers were being significantly affected by the case. Yeah, that’s probably what it was. Lively has become, at the very least, toxic in the public eye, and Baldoni, well, he’ll likely just remain Justin Baldoni—once best known for his role in The CW’s “Jane the Virgin”—instead of banking on a hit film that could have catapulted his career to the next level.
Everyone has a favorite moment in this ego-driven saga. Was it the unsealed text in which Lively’s partner, Ryan Reynolds, allegedly referred to Baldoni as a “human rounding error,” or my personal favorite, a Sony executive reportedly calling Lively a “f*cking terrorist”? So many delightful examples to choose from.
The truth is that Baldoni and Lively need each other more than they would ever care to admit—which is why I predict “It Ends With Us 2” will arrive in theaters by Q4 2028.
Maybe this time Lively won’t take over Baldoni’s edit, or have Reynolds involved behind the scenes, reportedly “taking over the movie” and “buddying up” to author Colleen Hoover to help ensure their version of the cut prevailed. That would definitely help in keeping things smooth sailing.
Regardless, after all the hundreds of millions in claims, it ends… with a whimper, a statement, and probably a collective sigh from anyone who’s been following this saga since 2024. Good heavens, it’s finally over. Let’s hope that’s the last we hear of these two.
