UPDATE: I’ve posted more reactions to Spielberg’s “Disclosure Day.” Many, if not all, of them come from press who have been doing junkets/interviews with the cast and crew of the film. Most critics, including myself, will get to see it on Monday evening — the actual review embargo lifts on Tuesday, June 9th at 12 PM ET.
EARLIER: In the age of studio-enhanced, highlyt curated social media buzz, we’ve come to take any first reactions with a grain of salt — and with good reason. Waiting for actual reviews to come out has always been the way to go.
That said, with a new Steven Spielberg film coming out in less than three weeks, and reactions to the trailer having been decidedly mixed, there’s something comforting in seeing Funko critics heap praise on “Disclosure Day,” as if to give us hope that the master has maybe delivered again.
Universal deciding to screen the film sixteen days before release, and actually lifting the social media embargo at the same time — that’s a good sign, right? Truth be told, this was probably for a junket, but not every person below is a Funko critic — and if you’re inclined to read the raves, proceed.
