Following her historic Oscar — the first woman ever to win Best Cinematography — for “Sinners,” DP Autumn Durald Arkapaw has already lined up back-to-back projects, both with frequent collaborators.
It was already reported that she would serve as DP on Ryan Coogler’s “X-Files” reboot, shooting the pilot in May — their third project together — but I don’t think it’s been mentioned yet that Arkapaw is also set to reteam with director Gia Coppola on “Perfect” for Netflix (via Production Weekly).
The film is set to start production on June 8. This will be Arkapaw’s fourth collaboration with Coppola after “Palo Alto,” “Mainstream,” and “The Last Showgirl.” This latest one is a biopic of Olympic gymnast Kerri Strug — who will be played by Millie Bobby Brown. Coppola hopped on board the project last September, replacing original director Olivia Wilde.
