Johnny Depp Shooting Mysterious Netflix Horror Movie in the UK?

March 24, 2026 Jordan Ruimy

What exactly is Johnny Depp shooting in the UK? According to local reports, Depp has been quietly filming in Maidstone over the past couple of days, specifically around MuMu’s on Week Street, where a full production setup has taken over the town centre.

Details on the project remain vague, but there are whispers. One employee of the pub tells Kent Online that Depp is working on a horror film reportedly produced by Netflix, with a possible October release window.

Take all this with caution. Nothing official has been confirmed, and Netflix refused to comment when asked, but if they did hire Depp for a new project, it would be the biggest indication yet that the actor is poised for a Hollywood comeback in the coming months.

Depp shot Ti West’s “Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol” earlier in the year, and that one’s set for November release. Could the mysterious UK production just be reshoots for ‘Ebenezer’? Not necessarily — Netflix has zero involvement in that film, which is being produced by Paramount.
