Martin McDonagh’s “Wild Horse Nine has set up a November 6, 2026 theatrical release via Searchlight. That’s right in the thick of awards season — attention to all fall fests.
By the looks of it, John Malkovich has first billing in today’s press release, then it’s Sam Rockwell, Steve Buscemi, Mariana di Girolamo, Ailín Salas, with Tom Waits, and Parker Posey rounding out the cast.
Set in 1973, during the US’s attempt to overthrow the Chilean government, Malkovich plays a hitman for the US government with connections to the JFK assassination, who suddenly realizes that his own people have put a hit on him to cover up the mess.
McDonagh is coming off ‘Banshees of Inisherin,’ released in 2022, which received nine Oscar noms, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor. His other works include “In Bruges,” “Seven Psychopaths” and “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.”
