If this weren’t a Marvel movie, there might be cause for concern. However, The Fantastic Four: First Steps is currently undergoing reshoots in Los Angeles, just over two months ahead of its release. According to Disney, these reshoots are being described as 'standard protocol' for an MCU production.
Then again, these aren’t pickup shots either; some of the lead actors, including Julia Garner, are involved in the additional photography. This latest update comes less than three weeks after a full-length trailer was unveiled to the public.
Now, let’s not forget: The Fantastic Four have already suffered through not one, not two, but three cinematic faceplants — the campy 2005 and 2007 flicks, and the painfully awkward 2015 reboot, infamously stylized as “Fant4stic.” Hopefully, director Matt Shakman and the rest of the gang have finally figured out how to make this super-family actually work on the big screen.
“The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” which stars Pedro Pascal, Julia Garner, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bacharach, is circled for July 25, 2025, theatrical release. Don’t expect any kind of delay because of these reshoots, it’ll very much be hitting theaters eight weeks from now.
