Kevin Costner’s “Horizon: An American Saga” just can’t catch a break — or pay its bills, apparently.
United Costume Corporation has slapped Costner’s Horizon Series with a $350,000 lawsuit, alleging they never got paid for dressing up the cast of Chapter 1 and its still-unreleased sequel. Yes, even the clothes are suing now.
This new legal mess joins a growing pile of financial drama circling the epic Western, which has already triggered arbitration claims, crossclaims, and lawsuits from City National Bank and New Line Cinema over missing co-financing payments.
And if that weren’t enough, a stunt performer from Chapter 2 recently sued the production for a laundry list of offenses — including a disturbing, unscripted rape scene allegedly filmed without the required intimacy coordinator.
‘Horizon,’ which Costner directed, co-wrote, starred in, and personally funded to the tune of $100M (even mortgaging his Santa Barbara mansion for it), made just $38M worldwide.
The lightning-fast sequel rollout plan was promptly scrapped by Warner Bros, and Chapter 3 is currently MIA with no financing in sight. At this point, Costner might want to start a GoFundMe — or a prayer circle.
