Fincher’s ‘Once Upon A Time’ Sequel Adds Elizabeth Debicki & Scott Caan — Shoots in July

May 30, 2025 Jordan Ruimy

Here’s THR claiming Elizabeth Debicki’s casting in David Fincher’s “Once Upon A Time in Hollywood” as an “exclusive” even though What’s On Netflix delivered the news two weeks ago.

Additionally, Scott Caan has been cast in the film. Caan is best known for his role on the long-running CBS series “Hawaii Five-0,” which earned him a Golden Globe nomination. His other credits include playing Turk Malloy in the ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ trilogy and several notable films such as “Varsity Blues,” “Gone in 60 Seconds,” and “Boiler Room.”

Fincher’s “sequel” is actually titled “The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth.” Quentin Tarantino, who wrote and directed the 2019 original, is behind the script for this follow-up. Brad Pitt is locked in to reprise his role as Cliff Booth, the stuntman-turned-sidekick from the first film.

I’ve heard that part of the plot will revolve around filipino gangsters who have infiltrated the movie business and also happen to be highly skilled in martial arts.

The core of the story finds Booth operating as a Hollywood studio fixer—someone who handles problems behind the scenes when things go sideways. Leonardo DiCaprio is rumored to be circling a small appearance, though nothing is official yet. Netflix offered the actor $3M for the “cameo.”

Casting on Fincher’s film is ongoing, and production is officially set to begin this July in Los Angeles. Netflix is backing the entire endeavor.
