‘Avengers: Doomsday’ to Have Four Different Trailers in Four Weeks

December 12, 2025 Jordan Ruimy

According to THR, Disney is planning an unusual release strategy for the trailer of “Avengers: Doomsday” by showing four different versions in theaters over four weeks.

Each trailer will play for one week only, so moviegoers will see a different trailer depending on when they watch “Avatar: Fire and Ash.” The idea is to encourage diehard fans to see ‘Fire and Ash’ multiple times to catch all four trailers, turning the trailer itself into a “collectible experience.”

So, if you want to see all four, you’ll have to watch ‘Fire and Ash,’ which clocks in at 194 minutes, multiple times. It’s unclear when these trailers will appear online, and that’s kind of the point: Disney wants to milk it as much as possible.

The first trailer is set to debut next Friday. After that, a new teaser will replace the previous one each Friday, with the second expected around Christmas, the third near New Year’s, and the fourth in the week that follows — all attached to ‘Fire and Ash.’

Quite honestly, I don’t blame Disney for doing this. They’re trying to build hype. ‘Doomsday’ cost anywhere between $400-$500M and is coming on the heels of a struggling MCU, which has seen its stock dwindle over the past few years. This film’s success will determine the fate of the entire MCU.

The official ‘Doomsday’ synopsis has Doctor Doom entering the MCU, wielding science, sorcery, and Robert Downey Jr.’s return to Marvel. The rest of the announced ensemble is Marvel’s biggest collection of capes and contracts to date, stretching from Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man to Ian McKellen’s Magneto to Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards.

Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron are credited on the screenplay, though given Marvel’s track record, expect plenty of “polish” between now and December 2026. The script technically isn’t locked, and reshoots are planned for January. Newton Thomas Sigel is handling cinematography.

“Avengers: Doomsday” hits theaters and IMAX on December 18, 2026.
