Trailer: Max Barbakow's ‘Brothers' Stars Josh Brolin & Peter Dinklage as Twin Brothers

September 17, 2024 Jordan Ruimy

The decade has been pitiful in terms of quality comedies, but here comes a straight-to-streaming title that might maybe shake things up.

As seen in the trailer, “Brothers” tells the story of a thief who desperately want his brother to join him for one more score. The film stars a murderer’s row of quality actors, including Peter Dinklage, Josh Brolin, Glenn Close, Marisa Tomei, and Brendan Fraser.

The official synopsis reads: “‘Brothers’ tells the story of a reformed criminal (Brolin) whose attempt at going straight is derailed when he reunites with his sanity-testing twin brother (Dinklage) on a cross-country road trip for the score of a lifetime. Dodging bullets, the law, and an overbearing mother (Glenn Close) along the way, they must heal their severed family bond before they end up killing each other.”

Yes, Dinklage and Brolin are playing twin brothers. It could turn out to be inspired casting, or a total train wreck.

“Brothers” is directed by Max Barbakow, who helmed 2020’s acclaimed comedy “Palm Springs.” It’s been four years since that film, and now Barbakow is about to finally release another feature, albeit one that’s clearly being positioned as a streaming affair.

“Brothers” premieres in select theaters on October 10. It’s set to arrive on Prime Video the following week, on October 17.
