Here’s an A24 project that was met with mezzo mezzo reviews at SXSW. It comes to us from director Kyle Mooney. an “SNL” alum, who co-wrote the screenplay with Evan Winter. “Y2K” now has a trailer.
What if the Y2K predictions were correct? That’s the gist of Mooney’s “Y2K,” a disaster movie that’s also a comedic take on the promised but failed chaos of December 31st, 1999.
The film tells the story of two friends, attending a New Year’s Eve party, who find their devices turning against them. The cast includes Jaeden Martell, Julian Dennison, Rachel Zegler and Fred Durst.
“Y2K” premieres in theaters on December 6.
As expected, Snyder's latest is being torn apart by TIFF attendees. No mercy given. The film, which had its world premiere this evening, is being called by some one of the worst movies to ever premiere at the festival.
