Earlier in the week came a report from The Jeff Sneider that “Get Out” and “Nope” filmmaker Jordan Peele had met with Marvel Studios for a mysterious project.
Now, One Take News has a follow-up, with additional details. According to their sources, Peele did indeed meet with Marvel Studios, and it was to specifically discuss the next “X-Men” movie.
The meeting actually took place many months ago and, sadly, nothing materialized out of it. However, we shouldn’t scratch off Peele as a possibility for other future Marvel projects, and there are plenty coming up. Too bad it won’t be X-Men, he could have maybe injected some real life into that tired old franchise.
OTN adds that, if he were to ever direct an MCU movie, Peele would most likely want to write the script on top of directing it, and since “X-Men” recently hired Michael Lesslie to pen the reboot then it is highly unlikely he will hop onboard that project.
