It looks increasingly likely that we’ll get a teaser trailer for Robert Eggers’ “Werwulf” next month — it’s definitely being prepped. My guess is that Focus will attach it to screenings of Curry Barker’s “Obsession,” with the teaser hitting online around the same time.
“Werwulf” wrapped production in January. The film, described as a “gothic horror,” stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Lily-Rose Depp, Willem Dafoe, and Ralph Ineson. The story is set in 13th-century England, and as customary with all of Eggers’ films, will reportedly feature “old English,” or period-authentic dialogue. Jarin Blaschke is back as DP.
Hopefully, Eggers delivers another success, following his Christmas 2024 hit “Nosferatu,” which grossed $181M worldwide. “Werwulf” remains nine months from its Christmas 2026 release, but the marketing push is clearly about to begin.
