Martin Scorsese Calls ‘I Saw the TV Glow' “Emotionally & Psychologically Powerful"

November 14, 2024 Jordan Ruimy

Martin Scorsese was recently asked if he’s seen any great recent films, and his answer might surprise you; he namechecks Jane Schoenbrun’s “I Saw The TV Glow,” which was released this past May (via AP):

There was one film I liked a great deal I saw two weeks ago called “I Saw the TV Glow.” It really was emotionally and psychologically powerful and very moving. It builds on you, in a way. I didn’t know who made it. It’s this Jane Schoenbrun.

Interesting how Scorsese keeps praising A24 movies. Earlier in the year, he championed Ti West’s “X” trilogy. He’s also a major fan of Ari Aster’s three A24 films (“Hereditary,” “Midsommar,” and “Beau is Afraid”). Now, it’s Schoenbrun’s turn to get high praise from the master.
