Boots Riley turned some heads at Sundance 2018 with “Sorry to Bother You,” a madcap vision about corporatist America. It was a wonderfully original statement, despite some minor flaws, and it cemented Riley as a filmmaker to watch out for. Last year, he helmed the critically acclaimed Amazon series “I Am Virgo” — another bats*it crazy statement. Riley is now telling the NYT’s Kyle Buchanan that he’s set to shoot his next film, produced by Neon, this Spring. The plot revolves around a ring of female shoplifters. No other plot or cast details were given, but we’ll be looking out for it.
As expected, Snyder's latest is being torn apart by TIFF attendees. No mercy given. The film, which had its world premiere this evening, is being called by some one of the worst movies to ever premiere at the festival.
