Matthew Vaughn’e ‘Argylle’ Releases Trailer

September 28, 2023 Jordan Ruimy

Here’s the trailer for Matthew Vaughn’s “Argylle,” a meta-bending, globe-trotting spy thriller.

Vaughn is best known for the ‘Kingsman’ franchise and “Kick-Ass.” One wishes that he could go back to his “Layer Cake” roots, alas, we’ll just have to settle with “Argylle,” for now.

The film stars Bryce Dallas Howard as a spy novel author who encounters a real-life, cat-allergic spy (Sam Rockwell) on a train. Based on the trailer, their adventure is filled with over the top action and, of course, a cat.

Also starring in the film is a talented cast that includes Henry Cavill, John Cena, Dua Lipa, Bryan Cranston, Sofia Boutella, with Ariana DeBose and Catherine O’Hara and Samuel L. Jackson.

Here’s the official synopsis:

“Bryce Dallas Howard “(Jurassic World” franchise) is Elly Conway, the reclusive author of a series of best-selling espionage novels, whose idea of bliss is a night at home with her computer and her cat, Alfie. But when the plots of Elly’s fictional books—which center on secret agent Argylle and his mission to unravel a global spy syndicate—begin to mirror the covert actions of a real-life spy organization, quiet evenings at home become a thing of the past.”

Apple produced “Argylle,” which is being distributed by Universal Pictures and scheduled to land in theaters on February 2.
