Surprise! Here is the trailer for “Mother’s Instinct,” which is great cinematographer Benoît Delhomme’s directorial debut. This is being shared via the film’s Greek Distributor, which is why it hasn’t been covered anywhere.
The film, described as a “psychological thriller”, is a remake of Olivier Masset-Depasse's 2018 French film of the same name, which itself was an adaptation of the 2012 novel Behind the Hatred by Barbara Abel.
Tackling the deteriorating friendship, due to a sudden tragedy, of two 1960s housewives, “Mother’s Instinct” stars Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain. Is that enough to intrigue you? The trailer hints at a tragic domestic drama, hopefully it’ll be better than “The Son.”
Filming on the film began in May of 2022 in New Jersey and wrapped on July 1st. NEON acquired the rights to the film. It currently has no release date. Maybe it’ll premiere at a fall festival this year? Otherwise, we’re looking at a 2024 release for this one.
