Report: Gal Gadot’s Claims That ‘Wonder Woman 3’ is Happening Are False

August 10, 2023 Jordan Ruimy

Gal Gadot has been doing the press rounds for her latest movie, “Heart of Stone,” and she’s been telling a few outlets that “Wonder Woman 3” is being developed by James Gunn and Peter Safran.

She told ComicBook.com: “From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we're gonna develop a Wonder Woman 3 together.”

She told Flaunt Magazine: “I was invited to a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran, and what they told me, and I’m quoting: ‘You’re in the best hands. We’re going to develop Wonder Woman 3 with you. [We] love you as Wonder Woman— you’ve got nothing to worry about.’ So time will tell.”

Variety is now reporting that nothing was ever promised to Gadot about “Wonder Woman 3” happening and that there was no definitive discussion about her returning in the new DCU.

According to Variety’s sources, a third “Wonder Woman” film is not in development at DC Studios nor do Gunn and Safran have plans at this time for any “Wonder Woman” project.

I find this latest development quite amusing. Either there’s been some serious lying involved or puzzling miscommunication between both parties.

If you remember, when they were hired by DC Studios, Gunn and Safran got rid of any future Wonder Woman movies, letting go of Patty Jenkins’s services and, consequently, Gadot. The last instalment, “Wonder Woman 1984,” tanked critically and commercially. Nobody cared for it.
