“Belfast” filmmaker Sir Kenneth Branagh is set to direct a live-action film based on the animated 1990s series “Gargoyles”. This is an Oscar-winning director helming an adaptation that’s been in the works for decades, at least since the original series concluded in 1097. The script will be penned by the writing team of David Elliot and Paul Lovett (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra). The series featured a clan of gargoyles transplanted from the 10th century to modern day NYC.
