Trailer for ‘Bob Marley: One Love’

July 6, 2023 Jordan Ruimy

Here is the trailer for “Bob Marley: One Love” and it’s kind of a disappointment. I absolutely love Marley’s music but Kingsley Ben-Adir looks nothing like the musical icon.

For some reason, this is being dubbed as the “teaser” trailer, but it runs for close to three minutes and gives away a big chunk of the plot. What we do notice is how conventional the filmmaking looks.

This feels very much in line with the bland Oscar bait biopics that keep being released every year. It failed miserably last December with “Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With Somebody” and it might fail again with this one.

“Bob Marley: One Love” will be released in theaters on January 12, 2024. I presume a late December limited release is also in the works to qualify for Oscars.
