B.O. Totals: ‘Barbie’ $93 Million, ‘Oppenheimer’ $46 Million

July 30, 2023 Jordan Ruimy

“Barbenheimer” rolls along. Both films nabbed great second weekends, with drops of only around 40-43% each.

“Barbie” made $93 million this weekend, A mere 43% drop from the previous weekend, bringing its total to $351 million in just two weeks. That’s the biggest second weekend in Warner Bros’ history. It also passed the $750 million mark worldwide.

“Oppenheimer” nabbed $46 million and has a domestic total of $174 million in two weeks, which is astonishing considering the subject matter and length of this very densely constructed film. It only dropped 43% from its previous weekend.

In third place was Disney’s “Haunted Mansion” debuting at #3 with $24 million. Meanwhile, “Sound of Freedom” kept chugging along with a $14 million take — the domestic total stands at $150 million. In comparison, ‘Mission: Impossible 7’ is at $138 million. Absolutely nobody predicted that ‘Sound’ would end up outgrossing Tom Cruise at the summer box-office.
