Craig Mazin has become a big name on television as the creator of HBO’s “Chernobyl” and “The Last of Us.”
And yet, Mazin’s experience as a film writer has, shall we say, been mediocre? He’s written the scripts for ‘The Hangover II and III,’ ‘Scary Movie 3 and 4,’ “Identity Thief,” and “The Huntsman: Winter’s War.”
His next film project is, apparently, Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Part II.” Mazin confirmed he polished the script for upcoming epic on the Happy. Sad. Confused. podcast.
“I am a participating writer in ‘Dune: Part Two […] I came long after… You come in and do a little bit of work… It used to be that you couldn’t even say that, but now they have this additional ‘Literary material’ thing at the end, so I am ‘Additional Literary Material.'”
