Despite scouting locations in Morocco late last year, it seems as though Ridley Scott has settled on Malta for the shoot of his upcoming “Gladiator” sequel.
Production is set to begin in June and will continue for four months. Another epic shoot awaits Scott who has amassed quite the cast for the sequel, including Denzel Washington, Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Barry Koeghan, Djimon Hounsou and Connie Nielsen.
We’re not entirely sure about the plot details. That’s the big remaining mystery. All we know is that Mescal will star as Lucius, the nephew of Joaquin Phoenix’s Commodus, and that Connie Nielsen is returning to the role of Lucilla, Commodus’ sister and Lucius’ mother.
